Description
Dan Mann’s FRK+ model is a classic shortboard with a squash tail. The board is an improved model of the FRK, designed for everyday conditions.
The FRK+ is designed to be slightly shorter than the original FRK. It retains all the benefits of the original FRK, with the addition of easier release in turns.
The board has had slight changes made to the concave and placement of the fins to accommodate the larger surface area of the board due to the innovation of the squash tile.
The board offers very fast rail-to-rail responsiveness combined with smooth glide and plenty of release. Most intermediate and above level surfers will love the FRK+ for the feel it provides, it is unobtrusive and almost unnoticeable to the point of being barely noticeable, it feels like the most accurate expression of your surfing intentions.
Wave type
The board is a performance board especially for performance, it will work in smaller waves, but its quality is felt mainly in waves of waist height and above. Recommended for surfing at a height of 2-6 ft, and is mainly suitable for average to high and especially strong conditions.
Characteristics
This model is an improved version of the FRK with a squash tail, which brings all the advantages of the previous model, with a little more release in turns thanks to the change in the tail.
The back of the board gives a strong drive and still allows release, it is very responsive in rail-to-rail transitions.
It is recommended to put on the board KS1 swords from the Kelly Slater series.
