Meet the new addition to FRK’s Quiver!
The FRK Swallow is built to give you high-level performance in waves up to 5 feet. Dan Mann designed it to be the most versatile FRK yet, combining a new Swallow Tail with a precise volume design that focuses right between your legs.
Together with Kelly Slater, Dan refined the outline of the tail and combined it with an innovative rocker – both in the center of the board and on the rails. Thanks to the rocker’s precision, the FRK Swallow is able to generate speed on flat sections without sacrificing control on the rails.
The feedback from the Slater Designs team was unequivocal – the FRK Swallow feels smoother in wide turns and gives better sword release than any other Slater Designs model.
How to choose a size?
The recommendation is to take 2 inches shorter than the regular FRK and 1 inch shorter than the FRK+.
For the most fun and performance – it is recommended to combine with the Endorfins KS1 sword set.

Wave type
The FRK Swallow was designed for waves up to 5 feet high, with the goal of creating the most versatile model in the FRK series. With an emphasis on proper volume distribution directly under the feet, this model generates speed even in the flat parts of the wave, without compromising on performance. Although the model was originally designed specifically for small waves, the team quickly confirmed its versatility in waves from knee-high on T Street to much higher waves in Oaxaca.
Characteristics
Compared to the rest of the FRK series, Dan worked on better volume distribution directly under the rider’s feet, improved the outline and profile of the rocker, and collaborated with Kelly to maximize the effect of the shape at the back of the board against completely new rocker curves. The rocker at the back of the board is specifically combined with a Swallow Tail, which allows for rare precision when working on the rail – something not typical of small wave shortboards. The two ends of the Swallow Tail provide better grip when turning on the rail compared to a Squash Tail, thanks to the reduced surface area of the back of the board.
